Funny that there were so many beach shots. I just happened to be on vacation at the beach, so I didn't have much choice. I did take some shots of sea shells that were striped and almost entered one of those.
Chris - I see that you are from NC. That's where we vacation every year and I envy you! I love it there.
I liked your image, too. Is this the first time you're in the vote?
Great work, Chris! Congratulations! When I saw your choices in your feedback thread, I immediately knew (and said so) that the selective colored version was the one to go without a doubt. I am glad that deep in your heart that was the one that YOU wanted to go with too.
Congrats, Tina. I really like your photo. I know lots of folks don't like selective color, but it worked so well with this shot. It was definitely one of my favorites. There were several other photos that I really liked also so congrats to all and to all the top 5. Lots of good choices this round!
I'd also like to thank those of you who voted for my little photo. I make the voting round so rarely that I'm always so thrilled when I make it. That thrill is followed by intense worry that nobody will like it enough to vote for it, so I get another thrill when I see that several of you liked my shot. I'm sure you all heard my little squeal of happiness!?
I have never tried panning or painting, but I have an idea that I'm going to try this weekend. I don't know if anything will turn out worth entering, but I'm bound to at least learn something out of this.
Dear All....I have been away again with no Internet since last Thurs. What a pleasant shock to now see that I have placed at the top of the Stripes Challenge!!! Special thanks to all of you who forced me to think through my own opinions on selective coloring. Also thanks for those whose critiques made me look through my images to find this particular perspective. As always, I learned something new!
Thanks to everyone who left comments and critiques, especially those who enjoyed the image enough to vote for it!!
Congrats to Nightpixels, Tatiana, Seascapes and AaronNelson, too!

No, I actually did a count last night and found that I made the finals 4/7 times. No wins yet though.
Thanks!
