Collections ok then go missing :(

Hi

I have a main site www.hdimages.ner that holds all my images and a second site www.netballimages.com that holds collections of my netball images from my main site.

For some reason when I collect images from this Gallery adding them to this gallery the images appear at first but then disappeare.

I have double checked all my settings, deleted the destination gallery and re added but I end up with the same issue.

Whats odd is that all the other galleries work fine, just this one that seems to have the problem.

Any ideas?

Hi,

You have disabled collecting in the settings tab of the control panel of your hdimages site. You need to have it turned on for collecting to work. It's in the 'site-wide features' section.

Thanks for the reply.

Why does every other gallery on the netballimages site work then?

For your argument to be correct none of the galleries should show as they are all collections.

I have collecting enabled and have been having a problem with some smart galleries looking right, "fetching" the photos fine then poof they are gone.

Smug seem divided - some say that the collecting option has to be enabled all the time for you're collected images to remain visible. Others will say that you can toggle the option on/off as needed as long as you have external links enabled.

Practically it has been proven that the latter is correct as 99% of the galleries on my site are made up fully of collections. In fact this gallery worked just fine for a couple of months and then the images went missing.
