Nice, there is a boat race within walking distance from my house next month and I really really wanted to go shoot it, but my dreaded day job is getting in the way...

Thanks JS and Rocketman! I was disappointed at first because I didn't think my 70-200 caught anything. So, a week after getting my D300s and 70-200/2.8, I am getting my super duper telephoto zoomer lens list ready for Santa!!! :D

    #2 is super.

My moniter shows it a little blown, maybe a little sat on #1? Unless it's just me, I'm always shooting in vivid

Good work. Good luck with your new kit... thumb.gif

Thanks torags, I'd trust your monitor over my 15 inch 2 year old laptop monitor any day! I am still trying to learn how to shoot and do post processing, but, boy am I having fun (mostly). Also, looking for workflow tips too!. :D

Here are the two original pics shrunk (shrinked? <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/headscratch.gif" border="0" alt="" >) down to 500/width.

You might be getting a lot of surface glare from the water chop (like a thousand mirrors). If you're going to do this frequently, you might like to look into a CP

You've got some nice pics in your folder. Yeah, shooting powerboats is tough. Most of them have lots of white gel, run in bright sunshine and produce lots of splash.

Those water tails are what gives the images impact and really punches the speed effect, I would compose to hieghten that. The second pic with the boat in the right third seems better - could use more water tail to me on the left so I would have loosed the crop on that side.
