You guys are really going to love Ron Coscorrosa even more than you already did! Not only did he recently post some great star shots, he also agreed to write a tutorial on how to get those great shots :clap :clap

I introduce to you: Stars

Personally, I think it is a great tutorial, and Ron deserves a huge Thank You! :lust :thumb :clap

Great tutorial, Ron. Fantastic detail for something that can be difficult to pull off properly.

wings.gifThat's a great tute Ron! I think you covered more ground and in better detail than I've ever read on the web. However there wasn't any swearing or cursing ... what's up with that man? are you going pro?:D

    Don't chastise me! :D

I save the cussing for when I'm in the field, like when I'm trying to nail the focus on a distant object at f/2.8 and I can't see anything :D

    Great tutorial-

I just wish it had larger versions of the photos available to really evaluate the noise levels and the quality of either the star trails or the point stars.
