Was walking through my neighborhood about dusk, and this guy came up to get his portrait. I made a few shots at iso 1600, testing my new camera. The third shot was taken at 400 iso. I want to go back on an overcast day and shoot some more horse shots. This guy was about the friendliest horse I've ever met!

Handsome animal. He's giving you some nice pictures this round.
My recent horse pics didn't turn out so hot so I am looking at giving it
another go. Gives me a great reason to get back up there.
LOVE the second with the highlight in the eye. Sweet!

Thank you, Snowgirl. I appreciate your suggestion. Next time I won't crop the hooves. I've been guilty of cropping the top of sailboat masts, also. Bad habit!

I think you pose a really good question. Its possible that while it seems ok
to take a carrot or something else it actually might not be ok. Sounds silly
even to me but there it is. A conversation with the owners would put the
mind at ease about that. I've only offered grass from my side of the
fence.
Agree...ask the owner first. Then you can shoot photos to your hearts content without worrying about anything. They may even let you in the pasture for some really good shots
