These are a couple of shots I took in our backyard of my girlfriend Mary. Theye were taken with my Nikon D200 & 50mm f/1.8. Then I did a little digital cross-processing in CS4.

Any C & C would be welcomed, thanks...

sorry there aren't really doing anything for me. This is going to be a bit harsh...they appear underexposed, backgrounds are distracting, the lighting is ho hum, the expressions are lifeless, and the processing over all is dull.

I think they could be salvaged with stronger processing though. Foir one thing get rid of the tilt, then add some contrast, exposure, and give the colors some more pop.

I agree with Qarik. The point here is to be a little thick skinned and post like crazy. It really is the best way to learn if you have that desire and love what you do. You've have a cute and willing subject to work with so get to it. Put a piece of post it over your screen and set your camera on a tripod. Then not only look at your subject but at what is around and behind them. Don't look at the screen. It is a major crutch that you don't need. Watch out for your background when metering it will affect it. If you have to have them hold their hand up in the same lighting condition and fill the frame with it and get your exposure that way. But keep posting.
