If you're looking for an excuse, here ya go. There's a little gallery here of some shots at ISO 3200 and 6400. Hand-held abt 200mm (non-VR) so they aren't too sharp, but they're useable images. These were late night finishers at the Lake Placid Ironman race last weekend. Crappy vapor lights of some sort. One image is below. I loves my D700 :lust .

I'm amazed with hi-ISO abilities on FX cameras. Almost as much as I am at how many roaches are running around my apartment right now. More roaches than people in China! CommieRoaches!

Nice gallery! I look forward to shooting some night action myself in a few weeks. Great inspiration.

Great shots from a great camera and photographer!

How did you add the top "header" to your SmugMug page??

Who are you and what do you want from me? :D

As for my Smug Site header, I created the banner in Photoshop and stuck it up there. I couldn't tell you how I actually got it into the site, cause I'm virtually HTML illiterate, but I know I followed some sort of tutorial, either here on DGrin or at Smugmug. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I really don't remember this stuff. I have to relearn everything.

Oh, and thanks for your generous words!

The D700 is awesome. It'll be interesting to see if its successor uses the D3s sensor or something different.
