Ok, so I fought myself over the last image and finally made the choice to re-shoot.

This is my final shot and it is posted in the gallery but please provide a little feedback

Really like this one - great idea with the flower & I like movement of the light, together with the brightness on the left fading to dark on the right - adds some intrigue. Very nice composition & cool shadows in the center of the flower!

That's really gorgeous. What did you use for the light? Did you shine it from behind the petals or in front? it's really precise and it reminds me of some of the examples linked to in the Entry thread.

Thank you very much.. I used a red laser pointer and outlined the front of the flower..

Not trying to nit, just offering a suggestion: in the entry gallery, the title of your photo is "A flash of light" - I really like the photo but it doesn't say flash to me (maybe a line, rope, outline or flower of light, but not a flash). FWIW, I know the title isn't that big of a deal, but a good title can add to the overall feel of the photo.

I never would have guessed the light you used was red - I think that just made the photo sweeter to me - I thought the red came from the flower - so what color was the flower? Just curious

Thanks, Ill take that into concideration.. The flowers normal color is burgandy-ish...

The comp in #1 is more appealing to my eye. The line on the right keeps me coming back in to the image, whereas my eye just runs off to the right in 2. Its very subjective, and I'm trying to put into words what probably can't be.
