Unwanted links

My SmugMug pages now sport unwanted links (Gamevance, University of Phoenix, etc.) Is this something that SmugMug has implemented, or is a symptom of something nefarious living on my computer?

Thanks for any help,
Tommy

    Andy,

Here is a link to a page with the offending links:

    http://tpower.smugmug.com/Football/081201-Monday-Night-Football/6723292_5GFon#429310773_u4HwD

The terms "Jacksonville Jaguars" and "roof" in my intro text are both now Gamevance links. This curiously does not happen with every visit to the page, but it happens more often than not. I have hit the page maybe 10 times in the last hour, and the links were in place maybe 70% of the time.

    Thank you for your help,
    Tommy

Andy, probably nothing is amiss on your screen. The text I provided is unique on the page. If it is not showing up as links for you, it probably is something my computer is doing. The behavior is not even consistent on my screen. I think I have my answer.

    Thanks,
    Tommy

I see nothing in the page or the page contents that can cause that and do not see it on my screen. I would guess that you have something installed either at your ISP or on your computer that is adding advertising to your existing web pages. It could be spyware that you don't intend to have on your computer at all or it could be an undesired/unknown side effect of something you installed on purpose.

    Andy, John,

The problem turned out to be as suspected. Somehow, I had "opted-in" to receive spam from Gamevance, and part of that package was this creation of unwanted "links" to various terms on websites I visit. Fortunately, Gamevance provides an "uninstall" function, which I have executed, and the problem appears to have gone away. Thank you for you help.
