Found this nest today, under the bottom-side of the pool slide today. Lots of activity at this nest. Composition., exposure and lighting difficult due to location. Post processing sucks due to inexperience.
Thought I would at least share a cool find.

Great series of images in the three posts. These are unusual and you must have been wearing protective clothing and head/face protection. Approaching the nest must have been difficult. Thanks for sharing these.

Thanks P.D. Actually all I was wearing was a pair of Blue Jean Shorts. The difficult part was that the nest is on the underside of a pool slide at the bottom end, about 12" off the pool deck.

Wonderfull, don't think I would get that close to a wasps nest! One of the few bugs I don't like. Lol
