Backcountry geotagging for a D80

I've done a lot of hiking, and a fair amount of photography, and I'm not realizing that I wish I had started geotagging my photos a while ago. I have retroactively geotagged them all to the big locations I was at (Yosemite National Park) but not the specific points on the trail.
Unfortunately, I have a D80. Is there a quick and dirty way to do it? All of the commercial gadgets I've been able to find last a day on a bunch of batteries, and this obviously doesn't work with backcountry trips.
Also, I have a brand-new MacBook Pro, so windows based solutions won't help.
Any suggestions/advice?
Thanks!

    Spot?
You could use a spot tracker, which will give you your location. Then match that with the time the picture was taken using the exif file.
