Site Map Question

I saw the great news that site maps have been implemented.

Question: If I go to my Google Webmaster Tools, click on "sitemaps", it shows "sitemap-index.xml", but under STATUS, there is a big red X. Does that mean the site map is not working?

Any time frame on when site maps will be fixed?
I just checked today, and see that my images are still not being indexed. I have attached a screenshot. Both the index and images are still showing errors as of today. Webmaster Tools says that the url is still pointing to http://jeanachang.smugmug.com rather than to my custom domain of www.jeanachang.com.

If it's in the works, thanks. It would be nice to know an estimate time of fix, though--just ballpark.:D
