Hey all.....here is a shot I took last night and just happened upon the most recent challenge and thought it might fit. What do you think? I painted the old well and tree above with my speedlight during a 5 second exposure.

C&C and thoughts on the image itself are appreciated too :D

Hmmm....46 views and not one comment. Back to the ol' drawing board I guess :)

You did a nice paint job - nice and even. Is there any way to make it a more interesting pic? How about colored gels on the speedlight?

Yeah, that's kind of what I was figuring...it's not "interesting" enough. I could certainly gel the flash but wanted to keep things as neat and tidy as possible because I liked the whites of the pillars. Thank you for your comment. I guess this challenge will require something a bit more artsy ;)

How about the same shot but you also light YOURSELF in the frame as you light the pillars? mwink.gif

Ah, the Old Well? alathough I am jumping in late, it seems that this one needs some motion or something that says "moving light source" or moving object."

I wasn't sure where the light was actually painted on the image although I liked the image itself.

Well, the foreground and well would have been basically black w/o "painting" it with my speedlight.

Imho this is a little too straight flash photography rather than painting with light. A nice image but not strong on theme for me.
