Aussie Pro Kate Bevilaqua screaming through the feed zone at the Lake Placid Ironman. She missed her bag and was not happy! Actually, they refer to it as the "special needs" bag, but I thought "Special Needs" as a title would have perhaps unintendedly stepped on toes.

How'd I do on this one?

I think you did well. Sharp, nice color. Good motion blur. The caption helps us understand why she's not in the typical cyclists position as well.

This should be submitted in the current challenge. Fantastic panning effort. Well captured.

Hey, thanks for the compliment. Missed it by a day! The race was on the 25th and the contest began on the 26th. Plus, the image really didn't meet the criteria. Here's why :ivar:

My camera settings during shooting were designed to maximize the sharpness and resolution of the rider. I was not able to get far enough away to comfortably pan with a longer lens, or spectators would crowd in front of me. The final image was the result of careful selection and multiple filters in CS5. I WISH I were an accomplished shooter to obtain the effect in camera, but I'm not - yet. I am quite pleased with myself for the ultimate results tho there's still room for improvement.

Wow! The post processing you did really makes the picture pop. Guess I should finally upgrade my software (and open my imagination) as there certainly is a world of possibilities here.

    Thanks for sharing.
