hmmmm.... that's a very interesting effect. You know those posters where there's a pattern and if you stand back and squint you see a penguin or something? It reminds me of that.

It's a little wierd being at such a big angle. Maybe try experimenting with putting a colorful pattern as a background or something?

Are we allowed to layer a background into it? I'm wondering if it would make it too busy if I did that.

This is a hard image.. I like it... I think its very interesting and actually like the angle and crop.. I..just my 2 cents, think adding to the background might make it too busy.. Try adding some contrast and maybe saturate a little more for more of a dynamic look

Yes I think it's better. I wasn't sure if making it that way would look overdone or not, tho. I took alot of shots of the same thing moving my camera in front of my monitor.. different settings like night or candlelight settings that the camera has set up already. I really liked the angle of this photo. I tried cropping it closer and it just didn't look as good as keeping it to see the entire image. It looks like a flag waving in the wind to me. :)

Its your image.. your insight and thats what makes it unique... if you are happy with what you create thats what matters, Many photographers push the limits of vision to creat somthing fresh and pleasing to the eye.. and thats that..

This is cool! Great idea! And I like it with more contrast.

I like the black BG, but maybe try it with different desktop wallpaper.

This is what I meant by background... desktop background. I like the edited version better than the first, though.

I like the effect on this shot. Looks like it could be used to illustrate the idea of what happens when we stare at the monitor for too long! But seriously, I think its a very good shot and a creative take on the challenge.

I think this idea is creative, and I like the angle and motion of the picture. I would prefer it if the entire picture was within the shot (no moving out of the frame). Perhaps standing further away from the monitor?

well, 'right' is when you like it, not necessarily when other people do!

I dunno headscratch.gif I like stuff other people don't like and vice versa... I'm just learning what looks good to other people, if that makes sense.

I'm wondering if this image fits the Light painting category now because everyone else is doing light painting a different way?

How did you set up your shot? Did you turn the camera while shooting the computer screen, or did you move the icons around on the desktop while your shutter was open?
Either way, there are light trails from the icons on the desktop, so IMHO it definitely counts.

I turned the camera while shooting the computer screen that had icons on it with a globe wall paper on it. :)
I know it's different from what others are doing for light painting and I didn't want to be too far out there and no one "get" what it was an image of..
