Franklin Falls

went up to Franklin Falls near Snoqualmie Pass on Sunday afternoon... it was kinda hazy/bright overcast, so the light was good for waterfalls - not too harsh, no shadows to speak of, and diffused. taken with 5D and 24-135, various settings...

i don't normally like people in my shots, but in this one, the kid by the falls adds scale...

    Cool series! I would like the first more if the kid wasn't moving (not that they'll sit still long enough for a waterfall exposure, but hey). The top of the waterfalls may be ever so slightly overexposed. Still, the shutter speed is perfect, and all three comps are solid.

    Nice job Rocky. I'm partial to the last one showing the basin.
    Would love to see that spot in the Fall!

    I think the processing in the first shot is far superior to the others. Sharper, better contrast, more "presence." The others look flat by comparison.
