    Yeah... I'm not that old and I remember buying 1 MB of memory for $70. That was a pretty good deal... And I had to put the chips in the sockets one-by-one.

    I'm old enough to remember when a 1/2 meg (for a pdp11) came on a card
    about the size of 6 cds...or when a 40G disk was probably 5U in height and
    a full 30+ inches deep.

    Interesting dichotomy: as computer technology grows, its memory capacity increases.

    As I grow, my memory capacity decreases.

    Lots of us carry 2-4-8 GB of memory in our cameras. Our phones and MP3 playes exploit more memory and computing power that was availabe to the finest workstations 10 years ago.

    Moor's Law is left in dust. Over 10 years we were supposed to have only 64 increase in everything in IT. I think we got much better than that.
