On 7/25 I left the house at 12:00AM to catch the sunrise at Sunrise. I had never been up there before but I found a pretty good spot in the dark
before the sun came up.

Thanks for looking.

Nice set and like the light in #2. That spot in the lower left with the two rocks in the first two looks like it would be a great place to shoot from (if it's accessible).

Fantastic light in that second one! Composition is great with the road as well as that small pond.

The whole set is great, but #2 is SWWEEET!!! thumb.gif

If you can make it out on that little outcrop safely next time, it very well may be worth the extra effort.

Thanks for the comments guys. It is possible to get out to that point. I stood there. You can certainly get more of the river in the shot from that perspective but the mountain just drops away and you're left with not much foreground interest. A friend of mine got the shot from there and it turned out well. The good light only lasted about 15 minutes and walking around there was a little dangerous (around a 45 degree slippery slope). So, we each stayed in our spots once the good light turned on. This shot (#2) took a 3 and a 5 stop GND stacked (hand held) to prevent the high's from blowing out. I was lucky and happy to get what I got. I'll be going back.

That's the start of the White river I think....glacier melt.
I think he thought the river was a road.
