Was the 5D Noisey?

The reason I ask is that I am doing work for a client whose portraits were taken with that camera and they seem to have noise on properly exposed studio ISO 200 shots.

The quick answer is no, the 5D is not noisy. In a studio environment where there is a fill light to control the dynamic range and the light is balanced to 5000K, I'll comfortably shoot with mine up to about ISO 1000 without even thinking about noise. The only times I have noise problems with my 5D are when shooting at high ISO (>800) under low watt incandescents (color temperatures below 2800K or so) and high dynamic range situations where I am using a lot of shadow recovery in post.

if you can post links to the pics with exif that would help. There has been a lot of talk about the 5D low ISO banding issue though.

I'm not sure about the rights since they are not my photos which is why I did not post examples, but the low ISO banding I do see.
