Spotted strolling across the rug. It was about to bolt and do its normal trick of running at the equivelent of about 5 light years a second but it chose to freeze when I got in front of it... and yes it DID move (when at full Mag) and YES, I jumped like crazy. Almost dropped my camera lol.

..and yes the rug has since been hoovered after the spider was deposited outside.

Cheers Phil... and yes, I must admit, spiders are not my favourite creature. I don't mind it so much when they're on a wall or not near me but if they start running towards me... eek.. That said, when I have a lens in between myself and them, it's not so bad.

I'm not exactly scared of spiders but do worry a bit if they suddenly disappear from the FOV and I'm not sure where they bolted to

See that's exactly my thoughts . If I know where it is then no problem for the most part. E.g There's another spider like this in the corner of our conservatory it it's messy little hovel. I know it's there and it knows I'm here but when it's not there, that's when I'll be wondering where it is..hehe.
