Excellent shots and neat spider. Does it spear prey with it's legs?- they look sharp enough.
Hi Brian, thanks for comments. I can't think of the spider's name right now, but I think it's the only non-poisonous spider in SA. Once the prey is trapped, it spins the prey into a cacoon as being done in the pics. It's really tiny - about 8mm long with the front legs stretched forward and the rear stretched back (its normal position when lying in wait).
Very nice shots. I watched a spider on my porch do the same thing. it wrapped the web builder in its own silk. Life sucks if you are the one being wrapped.
