Just a heads up...

The Black Rapid 7 that B&H ships includes the new FastenR3, so you don't have to order it separately if that's the one you want.

The FastenR2 is shown in the picture on the web page and the description doesn't say which connector is included.

B&H and Adorama have both confirmed to me that this also applies to all Black Rapid straps shipping from current inventories.

I can confirm this. I actually had ordered the R3 fastener to go with the strap but canceled at the last minute. I was pleasantly surprised when the R7 showed up with the R3 included. Good stuff!

As a follow-up, the RS-5 that I ultimately received still came with the FastenR2. However, Adorama's customer support stepped right up and had a replacement FastenR3 in my hands in 3 days. Top notch service!!

BTW - the RS-5 is everything it's advertised to be. I don't know how I've been getting by without it! (Now if only it came in a Smuggy versionthumb.gif)

Question about the RS-5. I have the older version and the only complaint I have about it is, it's just too thick. It rubs against my neck and eventually annoys me. Anyone know if the newer version is thinner?

    Thanks.

I don't believe there are any changes to the strap itself - just replacing the FastenR2 with the new FastenR3. Yes, it is a tad noticeable over the shoulder. The only potential negative I found is that with an iPhone in the front pocket, it's heavy enough to constantly want to slide forward when you grab the camera. But it's still light years better than any conventional strap I've ever used.

I got the BRAD option with mine and that seems to keep the strap from moving around.

Bummer. Might get the other version sans the pockets. I don't use them anyway.
