    What lens?

I don't know about you, but I get as close as I can, and sometimes I can't get any closer than you did. Often I can't. I don't have any birds reaching out to be petted. I got pretty close to some birds yesterday, but they were so busy eating............ (I have not posted them, yet, so you can't go look)

I got a "new" lens, longer arm, but I still can't get any closer than I am. What is really bad is when you, I, have to back up as I am too close.

Really good shots for where you were. Mine are like that. Often. Even at the rookery here. We just don't have things like they do in Florida.

Hi Ginger, thanks for your comments,I had to back-up once, well sort of.I was shooting some geese during nesting time and I was sitting on the ground.Well papa was wondering what I was up to and came at me very fast. Before I knew it he was "in my face" so to speak.I was at 28mm and all I could see was a large blurry black eyeball.I was a little worried since these birds (large male Canada goose) can inflict a lot of damage to a photographer sitting on his butt.I held my breath and waited:cry .He then made some funny noises then backed off,whew!:eek1 I managed to get a close-up that I will post later....Mike

Good shots. They are well exposed and that's half the battle. :D Its a lot easier shooting them down here in Florida. They seem to be more used to humans and will let you get in a lot closer.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

It's funny how we get the "but shots" as they fly away. You actually did very well. Good exposure and no blur. #2 is real nice. The wing is sharp as a tack. You notice I don't have any bird shots yet. :D Still havn't mastered the big lens. Don't have that many opportunities either. Good job.thumb.gif
