Let's inspire each other and post some bridal party / family photo line-ups. There are tons of ways to do it, some work with certain groups, some others don't. Let's post some line-ups and discuss.
Here are a couple key-words:
- the classic line
- the scattered
- the fun
- the funny
- the candid
- the cool
- the dynamic (walking / driving / ...)
- the unplanned
- guys only
- girls only
- bride with the guys
- groom with the girls
How do you handle:
- big groups
- small groups
- huge height differences
Best posing for family photos
HOW DO YOU DO IT / What are YOUR must-haves? :lynnma
P.s. I'll have this thread up for a bit longer than usual as I will be swamped for the next month or so .... So let's see what you got!

Guys alone:
1.
2. Girls-used the line up for this group to hide parts of bigger gals behind others in the bridal party.
3.and one of my favorite group shots from two summers back-
For a group of girls... I saw a shot (I think here) that inspired me, so I got all the girls to get their heads right up to the bride's shoulders. We did a normal version and a not-so normal version:
For the guys with the bride, we did a guys-blowing-kisses shot that was pretty cute.
As far as family shots go, I do in a row or two and just try to rip through those as fast as I can while still maintaining quality. I think that is one of the most boring parts for everyone at the wedding, so if I can be quick, professional, and energetic, it helps everyone survive
Would love to hear other ideas for groups that can be pulled off quickly. Florida is *HOT* and it doesn't take long for people to be ready to get back inside into the A/C.

Tell me about it ... but every once in a while I get lucky. It always depends on if you click with them or not + it's always easier if you've worked with one of them before, kinda opens up the door immediately. I always try to do a couple traditional, line-up ones and then I try a couple fun(ny) ones, so the couple can choose later ...
13: My favorite one from this year, probably less because of the pose, but because of the drop dead gorgeous location:
14:
15: One fo the sweetest brides EVER. I have a couple other ones of her stand out a bit more, but I like the casual looking smiles
16:
17:
18: The guy on the far left was the best man
19: The guy on the far right was a goof. No way I could have him strike a normal pose ... oh well.

That's it from me
in #11, what did you tell them to do?
