Gorgeous and the snow there is a real treat. Have you been back there since then? Was it you or someone else here on Dgrin that said they were going to be adding water to the lake?

I have been to Mono lake twice. Basically they are not adding water to the lake but allowing it to fill up to near the original amount. This will cover much of the tufa you see in photographs. Tufa only forms under water and could be seen until they partially drained the lake, but environmental groups have prevailed and the lake is slowly rising.
If you want to see the Tufa you should plan on going sooner than later.

I will be processing more Mono lake images and uploading them to my website.
Mono Lake is very interesting and gives one the feeling of traveling through an alien landscape.
Thanks!!

I love Mono lake, I did click and it took me to your site. I think I prefer shot #1 of the tufa's over this one. #1 really showcases the tufa's more. Nice work on both!
Mono is less than 2 hours from my house. I love that lake. Winter sunrises with all the snow right before another storm are incredible. The colors in the morning sky transform the lake into various shades of fire.
