Very nice capture while panning; not the easiest thing to do.

    Good job.

Nice shot very cool panning. I might try that with some tennis shots this week end. Doing football tonight might try it then. Nice workclap.gif.

Nice shot indeed, but I'll be the kill joy (just trying to be constructive). :D That was shot at 1/600th - NOT that hard to nail. ne_nau.gif Also, is he riding down a steep hill?

Not too steep, but yes. It was a downhill along Mirror Lake coming into town. I think they were cooking around 27mph at this point. The apparent steepness is more due to the diagonal at which I was shooting across the road.

How does one get that level of background blur at a high shutter speed? is that done in post? thanks!

Actually, this was shot in an alternate universe where the background speeds by in the opposite direction from the image in the focal point of (only) Nikon cameras. Canon shooters are out of luck.

Ahh . . . well. Yup. I really wanted a sharp image of the rider. The BG and wheels were worked on in PS5. Have a look at this prior thread to see a "before & after" pair.
