I've never owned a piece of photo equipment that was bad enough to be treated that way. I guess, though, that you know the value of your stuff.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I'll take that as a compliment, since it's a fake lens and you were not able to tell the difference. thumb.gif

No, but I do have a Swarovski ST-80 telescope which is guaranteed to survive a dunking in that manner…

At a trade show years ago, I saw one being fished out of an aquarium and demoed just to prove the point!

the splash had me wonder.. I thought that the lens would have created a bigger splash.. then, thought popped - a mug.. :)

    good, quality, shots, though.

Is that really one of the mugs? I thought the mugs were made to look like a white L-series lens?

Either way, I love the shots. Both of them froze the water perfectly, but #2 shows more of the object as it's entering the water.
What I said when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time: "The wide ain't wide enough and the zoom don't zoom enough!"

    Indeed, it's a 24-105 mug. :D

I posted a link to where I got it from in this thread:

    http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=1431618&postcount=20

$15 shipped...can't beat it and the quality is quite good. Excellent detail. It's not as nice as the 70-200mm metal thermos ones, but it's also 1/3 or less of the cost. I ordered a second one so I have a pair and will eventually pick up a couple of the 70-200's to complete the set.

    Thank you for the comments!
