Hoverfly session

Very wet here yesterday. During a break in the rain found these two hoverflies sitting on a sweat pea flower. Took some shots in situ where I ended up holding the sweetpea flower and twisting it around to get the angles and background I wanted (first 3 shots). Eventually dawned on me that these hovers were not going to move so I gently cut the flower and placed it on a leaf on a sunchair for some easier shooting - last 3 shots plus crop are all zerene stacker focus stacks.
All shots 5Dmk2/MPE-65 from 1:1 to 5:1 mag.

Crop from above shot - noticed the hairs on the back were spiralled

I suppose I'd be so tempted to remove the white spot from the eye but then that would be altering it to something it isn't. Is it lint or damage?
As always, beautiful images.

Ian never even thought about removing that speck - assumed it was pollen. Funny because I do remve dark specks from flower shots.
