Hover Head

This hoverfly was sat on a holly leaf this evening, getting quite dark so had to illuminate myself.
There was a breeze but the flash helped keep it fairly sharp. Tripod mounted so camera was steady but the holly was moving all the while.
Cropped it close in on the eye so you can see a bit of the detail in there.
WDYT?

Ambrola, pity you don't get hovers in the states as they are lovely and compliant. In fact, much of the time it's almost as if they're happy to pose for the photo and will often hover directly in front of your lens or as happned to me recently, landed on the barrel of my lens
