I will be using this initially on my 24-105 f4L (and possible on a 70-200, but there I suspect it does not matter as much) with a 5d2 - anyone know if the thin mount is necessary/worthwhile? I would hate to want it after the fact, but would rather not blow the $50 if it is not needed.

Thanks in advance

The standard version does vignette at 24mm on a full frame body - mine does, so it does not get that much use, since my main reason for it is shooting waterfalls which I usually do at the wide end with my 24-105.

If I were to do it over, I would get the thin version, or stick to non-variable style of NDs. JMHO

Thanks, that is exactly the type of info I was after. Going to Niagara Falls next week :-)
