Egret convention

I know it is a terrible shot but I couldn't get much better from inside my car. These were in a small forest preserve with the entrance blocked off. I can't figure out why they are all in one little shallow pond. There are many other lakes and ponds in the area but they were all at this one. I'm going to try getting closer once my 2x TC arrives on Tuesday.

Anyone have any suggestions they were all together in one place like that?

    Hi Nick,

I see these conventions all the time. Usually at the very beginning or end of the day. They usually roost together at night and will all start off or end up at the same spot. Also there might be a food source in the pool.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Good to know Harry, thanks for the info. I'll have to keep an eye on the place and see if they stay there or are there at certain times.
