Nice Mitchell. Good use of a foreground object and also the north star for those lovely circular trails

Kidzmom, you need a particularly long exposure to achieve this. Either that or a series of medium length shots stacked together. The last ones I did were between 40 and 60 minutes in length at a focal length of 10mm and Aperture of F8. You also need to be in a very dark part of the country to avoid light pollution from towns and cities. Also have to watch the time of night as even very late at night, daylight can be seen at the horizon.

Many star trail enthusiasts will often expose for hours and hours.

A fella, last year was asking me how to set this up (without an example). I didn't factor in the N. Star.
    Live-n-Learn.

    kewl result.

This was a 25 minute exposure. As has been noted. It helps to use the north star in your composition for these shots since you get nice rotation around that focal point.
