Dragonflies

Here are some more dragonfly shots from this morning - trying to concentrate on not clipping wings if possible. All/any C&C welcome. How can I improve on what I'm doing with the kit I've got? no flash, kenko tubes and a tamron 55-200 on a 450d. Thanks

good compositions, like the male black darter best. hairy little things arnt they:D
always difficult shooting in bright sun, tends to burn out detail.
maybe leave a little more room around them, look a little tight in frame

Thanks Phil - I did wonder if I was maybe cropping them a bit tight - was mainly trying to get rid of odd twigs and reedy things. A bit too over zealous.

Lovely captures !
Only suggestion would be to try shooting in Tv or Av modes with no flash. Should only need flash with dragons in good light if they are backlit

Thanks Brian. I do have a few taken without flash but a lot of them have clipped wings. Will try again next weekend, so much to try and get right.
