Created my first "Event" and feautred it on my homepage, but when you go to my homepage the "Featured Event" is showing an "Empty Gallery" thumbnail instead of a thumbnail of one of the pictures from the event. How do I change that? I have searched everything!

Would you mind sharing what you did to fix it? I just tried to setup a test event and featured the events on my homepage, but even though i have an image featured in one of the galleries, I still get a "protected gallery" thumbnail. Thanks!

I am also having this problem. My galleries show the featured image, but if the event is password protected I don't see the image.

Thanks for the help, and great avatar. I just signed up last week and am completely happy. My order traveled from Cal to NY in 2 days. Customer was ecstatic.

Go to the gallery, pick a photo, then go to Tools/This Photo/More/Feature to set that photo as the thumbnail for the gallery. When it's password protected, Smugmug can't assume you want to show any thumbnail so you have to tell it that it's OK.

It's showing for the galleries, but when the event is password protected, the event doesn't show a featured image.

There doesn't seem to be a way to feature a photo for a Featured Event thumbnail at the moment, sorry! It doesn't seem to be working the same way as it does when you feature a photo in a gallery (category shows thumbnail from featured photo from first gallery in that category). I've submitted a feature request to our engineers for this, and we'll see if we can get this option implemented. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
