Hi you'll,

One of the reasons I love the 500mm lens is that it allows me to get in really "close" to my subjects.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

now those are some really super sharp shots! great lighting, subjects, and exposures. sure, the lens is helpful but you apply your craft so well to the situation. bowdown.gif

Nice pics, Harry. You know that a cheap bottle of wine is far less expensive than that 500mm and I bet you can approach those birds even closer. :D Sweet talkin' them helps also. thumb.gif

Thanks Andy. I have spent a lot of $ on gear but the best $ I ever spent was the $ for the workshops I took. W/O the knowledge I gained from them my shots wouldn't be looking as half as good as they do.

Wow! Harry, that's great detail. I love the light especially in #5. Clear, sharp, no grain or noise. And what kind of birds are those in #3 and#4?

Hah, wine and sweet talk will get you squat with these birds. Frogs and fish might help but then the car gets real smelly. rolleyes1.gif

a very good example of Reznick teaching in the hands of a good photo boy .Use of light and the best exposer for the moment .Some folks think that if they have the camera, the long lens ,the right card and a $1000 tripod --then it just a walk in the park --go try this on our walk in the park .Really nice shots Harry thumb.gif

Thanks Trish. As I told Andy earlier in this thread, the workshops that I took have had more of an impact on my shots than the camera or the lens I use.

Thanks Snappy. #3 is a Green Heron and #4 is an osprey (a member of the hawk family).

Another set of great shots, Harry. I really love the detail. You'll have to give me some lessons when I head to Floriday this fall. :):

Thanks Jeff. My gear is nice but Ron Reznick has had the greatest impact on my photography.

Shots like these are really inspiring Harry. I love how the GH has its feathers standing up in the 3rd shot.
