Birds Behaving Badly
Walking home from the grocery store earlier today, I came across a group of five magpies. One was down on its back, three were pecking and pulling at the one that was down, and the fifth was just standing and watching. By the time I got the camera out, two of the attackers (?) had moved off. I did manage to get a few photos. Anyone know what this strange behavior is all about?
The magpies (errr... Australian magpies) did not choose a particularly photogenic location for this scenario.
Is this a crow of victory?
You thought you could keep me down? Hah!
And then they just walked off...
I'm most definitely just an amateur photographer, but I'd very much like to be a -better- amateur. Your comments and criticisms are welcomed.

Thanks for looking
I have since learned that this is common behavior for these birds. Pity that they happened to choose a patch of weeds near a drain cover to display it.
…bloody crows!!!
