Cropped photo... Incorrect, original lost?

I was cropping this photo

It kept on saying "saving". I am using firefox 3.6.8
After a few minutes I reopened the image, and it showed me it wasn't cropped.
so I set out cropping it again, and it cropped it.
But apparently, earlier it had cropped it, and now it was crop of a crop. The bird's tail is totally gone.
Is their any way to recover the original?
