I dropped my Speedlite and it made the most pathetic sound. It wont fire or do much of anything. Should I call Canon or is it worth it to just buy another?

Thanks!

I moved this to the Accessories forum.

Which model and how old is the flash?

That's funny I just broke one of my SB600s flashes by dropping it. Bought a replacement flash tube on ebay and found some great walkthroughs online on how not to electrocute yourself replacing it. I'll try a writeup myself and let you know :D

Fill out a repair request on Canon's website. It will tell you how much the base cost will be to have them fix it. You can then decide for yourself if it's worth it. Unless they receive it and find that the repair will cost more than their quote, in that case they will call and you can decide if it's worth paying more or have them return it as is. For reference, the base repair cost on my 430ex was $105 a few months ago.

I called Canon and they do free estimates so I'll ship it out to them tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for the help folks!
