Upgrading to Power User??

I see the option for upgrading to a Power User account in Account Settings but I have a question.

Will the system automatically see my referrals and use the balance for the upgrade? Or will it bill my card and use my referrals on the renewal date?

Also, as a Power User, can I add metadata to the title? I'm looking to improve Search engine rankings and any tips you can throw my way will help a great deal.
