I'm looking at purchasing a 24-70 for my Nikon and I'm torn between a used (Rating: 9) lens for $1420 and a brand new model for $1699.

What would YOU do??

Me? I'd buy new, if the price delta was that low.

in this case I would go for the new one....there is not enuff of a price difference and with the new one you get a warranty........

There doesn't seem to be a big used market on these lenses so the difference in price didn't surprise me. thumb.gif

most people who have a 24-70 tend to keep them; it is a great piece of glass, so its not common to find them used .... I would go with the new one.

I reordered mine...picked it up as soon as it was available. You will be pleased. Congratulations on your birthday and your new acquisition.

And yes, no used Nikon anything carries the manufacturer's warranty. This from a call to Nikon. So, you will be glad you got the new one...be sure to register it so that the warranty is extended to 5 years.
Remember, no one may want you to take pictures, but they all want to see them.
