Penguins were his first love

I'd love to hear what you think. This is one of the first photos I've processed through LR3. Does it work? (Maybe it just works for me because I know how thrilled he was that the bird responded to him.)

    it's hard to detach emotionally when it you own kid and you saw his reaction! to the outside observer though it doesn't work. You can't see the childs face so all the excitment in his eyes doens't show. furthermore it is very dark and if you didn't point out it was a penguin..I may not have known.

    I thought that might be the case...that's why I asked. I didn't know if the hand position and the intensity with which he is leaning in to look at the bird communicated anything. It is always interesting to me to try to catch the emotion of a moment even if your camera doesn't happen to be on the person's face. It's hard, I know.
