Sweat bee story

Some shots of a Lasioglossum species sweat bee feeding on a lace hydrangea. I was doing my normal trick of holding the flower and resting the lens on that hand when the bee decided to step onto my finger to have a clean before starting to feed again.

You could never get that close to bees in the southern part of the USA. I have tried, and they are off in a split second. When it starts to turn seasons, and the weather cools, you can get close to them. I think the cold makes them slow? I want to get some pics of these Red Wasp that are here, but man if you get stung its horrible. I am waiting for colder weather.
