A few of my little friends

Well about 2 months ago I decided to get serious into tropical fishkeeping (what is it with me and expensive hobbies?:scratch). I have stocked up my 3ft tank and now I have decided I need a bigger one so I have a 4ft tank sitting in the back room with no water in it I need to make a space for it to go:lol3. Now, for the last 2 months I have been trial and error methoding my way through the challenge of photographing my little scaley friends. They almost never stay still and the aquairum light is too dull to use shutter speeds any faster than 1/8th. And using flash gives me mixed results, sometimes it just bounces right back off the glass and all I get is a big reflection of me:uhoh. Well. I think I have worked out a method that is working 80% of the time, and here's a few post worthy (I think) shots...

That wormy looking thing there is a Kuhille (coolie) Loach.

I have many other aquatic friends but portraits of them I am still working on...

Just thought I'd introduce you all

Thanks for the intro. I love the colors you captured. The aquarium must look stunning. I would love to see a shot of it.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Fish in tanks are really hard, and you've done a mighty-fine job. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks david, yes as you can see, the flash really brings out the scratches and watermarks on the glassumph.gif Though the shot of the bristlenose is probably the best one I've got so far. Mind you, there has been ALOT of trial and error going on.
