Since there are quite a few newer folks here, I thought I'd trot out this one from '07 that I really like.

Taken in June of 2007 with a 30D and 300 f/4 plus 1.4 tc. handheld peeping through a hole in the vegetation that gives the feet, rump and BG that hazy look from OOF foreground wind blown grasses. No creative editing was done. Basically an out of camera JPEG (no...no RAW in '07).

Love this bird! I only wish I had been into photography when I was big into birding. Perhaps it's time to trot out the Peterson's... Thanks for sharing!

Excellent capture Ric. Is this a one time thing or will be seeing a series of "greatest hits" from you?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

rolleyes1.gif With all the shooting I've been getting in lately, that may become necessary for participation here.

It works for the Rolling Stones...doesn't it!?

Thanks Harry...nice to see you back.:D

We went different ways. To me a bird is what it is...me knowing what others have decided to call it won't change anything. Now, don't get me wrong...it's nice to know what a bird is called and it's habits so we can talk to others about it. So...get out the camera and post some pics (good or otherwise) so I can get an education.:D

    Thanks.
