I did get two elk butting heads.

... and a bull moose keeping cool.

...and another day, another cute marmot (different day, different location, different marmot, but that doesn't matter because they are all hams).

Thanks, Ben. I'm especially proud of the elk sparring. Not one of my best shots, but under the circumstances, I was very pleased. It was taken at dusk in a valley where there wasn't much light.
    Settings:
Aperture: f/5.6 ISO: 400 Focal Length: 400mm Exposure Time: 1/250
The shot was handheld with a EF 100-400 lens with image stabiliztion on (thank goodness for IS).

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I doing fine during the storm, but I was sitting in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado this morning when it came ashore so I didn't get much wind or rain. :D

Now I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah waiting to pick up my wife at the airport tomorrow. Then we head straight up to Yellowstone NP and then to the Grand Teton NP before I carry her back to SLC for her to catch a flight home on Sept. 8th.

This is getting to be habit though. Last year I flew her out to meet me in Las Vegas (I was shooting a race there), and then we headed up to Yosemite, Sequoia, and King's Canyon Nationa Parks. Two years in a row she was to fly out to meet me on a photo trip and had a major hurricane come in from the Gulf of Mexico (Ivan last year) the day before she was to fly out to meet me. There seems to be a pattern developing here.

If people back home start putting this pattern together they will stop giving her time off to fly out to meet me somewhere during hurricane season.
