Since it is a bit slow here I thought I would post some images of the Blue Heron.

    Lovely series!
I want to know if the bird is trying to tidy its rumpled feathers in the third picture, or if it is deliberately arranging them to look like it was caught in a wind tunnel. :)

Hi Mark, and thanks for your comments. No not a common pose at all, but this big bird had been prunning his/her feathers for 5 minutes or so.

Thanks for your comments on these images and the first one he/she found a crayfish and sure enough it went down the hatch.

Thanks, and in that third image it ruffled it's feathers and started to prune itself and spent 5 minutes prunning the ends of his/her feathers. ON my forum this is the one that was most liked.

Thanks for sharing. This is one of my all-time favorite birds. #3 is my favorite too! #1 had me shaking my head - not at the shot but at the bird as I knew what was caught and where it was going but man that looked like it could be painful going down rolleyes1.gif

Happy to share these images, and the third one is really nice and one that members liked as well on my forum. That was the same thought I had of the first image. But it went down and contiuned to look for more food. Thanks for your comments on this series.

Hi Ric, and thanks for your comments, the third one has been a big hit it seems and I thought that the last one would be the one liked best but did not happen. I think that one is a sweet shot as well.
