Potomac River Visual Approach

When aircraft fly into Reagan-National Airport from the north, they must intersect the Potomac River about 10 miles north of the city (at the Beltway) and closely follow the twists & turns of the river to avoid flying over any sensitive buildings. Pilots describe it as difficult and much more fun than a straight-in instrument approach to some other airport. The approach includes one last hard bank to the right, captured here, under an almost-full moon.
