Dgrin Sharp Shooters Challenge #58

Welcome to Round #58 of the Dgrin Sharp Shooters Challenges. This challenge is open to any Dgrin member. It will run from Monday, August 23, 8:00am PST time (GMT -7) on through Monday, September 6, 8:00am PST time (GMT -7).

The phrase ready for your interpretation:
Sure go ahead, try to hit me. But I must warn you, I am a master of the martial ar...OUCH! Dude, that hurt!

Since this is the last challenge before the next Mega I felt a twist was in order.
The above phrase was found as a signature on the Internet. Try as I might I am unable to find the origins of this phrase, if anyone knows where it comes from please let me know.
This round is all about coming up with an image that encapsulates the phrase in some way. You can use part or all of it within your image.

Your Judges:
tinamarie52 (Winner of Round 55)
Guest Judge: You (public vote)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your entry is to be submitted directly into a SmugMug gallery. It's pretty simple, just go to the gallery link below, and follow the upload instructions at the top of the page: Remember, the basics stay the same: 1 entry per person, and the photo must be fresh, taken during this contest period. Do not use a minimal save method (such as "save for web"), and your EXIF will be embedded in your image, no worries!

To avoid disqualification, read, in full, the Dgrin Sharp Shooters Challenge Rules, there have been some slight modifications

    Here is what I found:

Yes - pretty much all the same links that I found when doing research. Unfortunately none of them explain the origin of the phrase ne_nau.gif

I suspect it may be a line out of an Anime movie or TV show. :D

My first thought was...."this is the hardest one yet. How will I come up with an idea?"

My second thought was..."Yeah, I'm judging so I don't have to come up with an idea."

My last thought was..."Oh my....judging will be harder than coming up with an idea!"

Careful what you wish for!!! rolleyes1.gifrofl

    Good luck everyone!

    tough one
New to the forum and this will be my first challenge...

My first reaction is you'd almost need 2 shots to get the point across.

the first showing the cockiness and the second showing the downfall.

For example, a soccer player dribbling downfield in one shot and being dumped on his head in the next. Just seeing the dumped shot, does that set up the premise enough?

But I guess that will be up to the judges... :)

Sounds like a very literal interpretation. You could do your image as a diptych or triptych to tell a story like you describe, just make sure you read the rules about frames and borders when using that type of technique.

Just a reminder to everyone that you do not have to use the whole phrase in your image you could opt to just use even one word, like "ouch" for example. If the phrase does not conjure up a multitude of images like it does for me, then just concentrate on breaking things down until you are able to see your vision. :*sip*

Question..... I am using a borrowed camera this week and it's owner has set the camera to put his name (Rick Reneau - Also a Smug Mug Pro Subscriber) in the EXIF data.... Is this going to be a problem? If entirely neccessary I could try to change that setting, but I hate to change it on someone else's camera...

A little over a week left.

Obviously this round has stumped a great deal of you.

At this rate, jwear will be the sole winner mwink.gif

I did think of something tonight, unfortunately I needed to think of it yesterday. Hopefully another opportunity will come along.

Going through my photos from football yesterday and came across this one. I wish it were so far away but I'd say the kid making the tackle felt the effects more than the other one... :)

yes, this is a hard one... for those of us who don't really have much to do with contact sports! All the animal shots have given me a good idea about the black widow I scooped up yesterday though!

We are not limited to the Ouch part of the phrase. We can illustrate any part of it. "Go ahead and try to hit me", "I am a master...", "martial artist" are all valid concepts for this theme.
