On a trip to Pismo Beach with my visiting parents and my kids.

Had to stop at Andersen's for some of their famous Pea Soup (my first time)

Click on pics for EXIF.

But I digress. The hotel is on Pelican Point, and boy, those things are all over the place.

Now, I'm not a birdman, strongest lens I have is 200, so bear with me.

#1 (yeah, misframed a bit on the bottom. may reshoot)

Lastly, which of these two do you prefer?

Nice shots Davud with 4 & 5 being the best because of their stong compositions.

Your exposure was pretty good but I would have brought it down a third of a stop.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks, Harry. I could probably still fix that in RAW. It's just so hard to make the image pop like I'm used to and also protect the highlights. I see why this can be so difficult.

Thanks, we had a fantastic day, and an even better one today. Just got my pics into the computer and I'm gonna start processing now.

Just gotta say, birds are hard. The ones I was shooting were hardly moving. can't imagine when they're flying and all.

Possibly. I spend a bit of time with a quick mask lightening the rock and birds, they were really dark. Is it that I went too far with it? It's one of those shots that I'm both a bit too close to, and a bit ambivalent about, so I'd really appreciate it if you were more specific about what you see that works about it and what you see that could be improved.
