This guy is huge. About 3 inches long if you include his legs. Had to take the picture with just the 105mm. He is hanging upside down with his head towards the ground. Wish he would move so I could get his head.

Very good attempt Ambrola. The whites are over exposed on the back but you've captured nice detail in the legs and the hairs :)

Spiders are so awkward at times as they mostly face downwards or are on the opposite side of their web so you only get their underside.

Yea, I know. The flash washed out some of the colors. Here is one thats a little better. I will get him again in the morning. Hopefully, I can see his head.

Not bad at all, as Ian says some overexposure on the spider. If there is no close background when using flash with camera in manual then try dialing in some - FEC. I normally use -.3 or - .6 FEC when shooting isolated spiders like this.

really like the last frame clap.gif

when hanging in a web exposure always a pain.
i have found better to shoot with a slower shutterspeed when using full flash, sometimes as low as 1/40 which uses more nat light. need to hold camera very steady though!
